HEART HEALTH FOCUS DAY RECAP

It was a sea of red – the 225 attendees at Coulis Cardiology’s 2010 Heart Health Focus Day on February 6 were clad in red clothing and accessories to promote heart health awareness as they enjoyed the day’s events. Coulis Cardiology, the region’s only independent cardiology practice, was proud to host its fourth annual Heart Health Focus Day at The Heritage House Event Center at The Bull at Pinehurst Farms.

The event, co-sponsored by Columbia St. Mary’s, featured exhibits offering information about heart health and various screenings and treatments and a presentation by dynamic keynote speaker Zonya Foco, RD, CHFI, CSP. TV host and author Foco shared heart-healthy recipes and tips during her presentation, “Learn to be good to your sweet heart; after all, it’s good to you!”

Coulis Cardiology’s new cardiologist, Robert M. Horth, MD, FACC, FASNC, also introduced himself to community members at the event. Horth is board-certified in cardiology, nuclear cardiology, cardiovascular computed tomography, echocardiography and internal medicine. He joins Coulis Cardiology’s team of leading specialists this spring.

Everyone from Coulis Cardiology is proud of its Heart Health Focus Day, which also features a delicious heart-healthy lunch each year. “It is an opportunity to get word out to the community about keeping your heart in good shape, all while having a good time,” says Louie Coulis, MD, FACC, cardiologist on staff at Coulis Cardiology.
